Concentrate on Your Fishing
I was watching a TV Show with Bill Dance and he was talking about concentration. I thought well this is going to be a boring show but of course, it wasn't. Matter of fact it made sense.
Bill says Concentration not only makes you a better fishermen but also helps you forget your daily woes. Learn something from every cast.
When you get a strike.....analyze it.
What was the cover?
What was the lure speed?
What retrieve did you use?
What was the water temperature?
What was the depth of the strike?
What was the oxygen level?
What was the lure color?
What type of lure?
What position was the boat to the cover?v
Was the strike a slight bump or hard jerk? A light bump usually means inactive fish. If bass strikes shallow.........usually active
If bass strikes mid-depth.......usually semi-active
If bass strikes in deep water...usually inactive. So, how does this help you? Well, if you can imitate the last conditions where you caught a fish, chances are you will catch even more without spending hours searching all over the lake. Charles E. White has fished for almost 50 years for bass from California to Florida. In his lifetime, it is estimated that he has caught over 6,000 bass. His biggest bass is a 12 pound 14 ounce that hangs on his wall in his office. Have you ever thought why fishing timbers is so productive? Well, for one, most anglers don't want to fish them because they're afraid of losing a $5.00 lure. This makes it better for us that are willing to take the risk. Sure, you get those who will throw a spinnerbait on the top of the timber but the fish are in the timber. Techniques and Tactics For Nymphing
Just like dry fly fishing, there are many, many ways to fish a
nymph. Which one you should use really boils down to how skilled
you are in nymph fly fishing and what you are attempting to catch
and where you are doing it. Make sense? Probably not, but let's
move forward to give you some idea on the different nymphing
techniques available when fly fishing.
Fly Fishing for Saltwater Salmon with Surface Flies
One of the greatest thrills in Pacific Northwest fly fishing is bringing large anadramous fish to a surface fly. While surface fishing in the saltwater is not as popular as subsurface fly fishing, feeding saltwater coho salmon will take a popper quite aggressively. Neah Bay is the best place to cast flies for coho salmon in Washington State, and I believe it's also the best place to catch coho / silver salmon on a cast popper.

A Technique To Catch Trophy Size Bass
There is a craze going on that produces big bass, it's called flippin.
Flippin puts the lure where the big bass are.....in cover!
You will want a 7 1/2 to 8 foot rod with at least 20 pound test on your reel with the drag tightened. You will also want a 1/8 ounce to 1 ounce weight according to the cover you are trying to go through. Don't forget the big hook, 4/0 to 5/0 is best in my opinion.
